Turns out whoever installed the oil pressure gauge used a plastic line from the bottom of the front of the block, up the front of the motor, supported by electrical tape to the across the intake manifold, through the firewall. The line rubbed on an intake bolt until a leak ensued and the accompanying hot pressurized oil helped increase the leak.
Direct quote from my brother: "Who puts plastic on a jeep?"

Too good for a remote pressure sender, are you?
I don't follow...I googled remote pressure sender and all I got were links to a steel braided hose.
Haha, maybe I should mount my oil filter in the glove box for easy access.
Hahaha that's actually quite funny. I guess the "remote" part is in reference to the block, not the gauge.
Seriously though, oil pressure sender FTW.
